The Gaming Giant Brings Onboard Apex Legends Developer to Boost Troubled Action Game Project Ethos
The renowned publisher has secured a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently developing the forthcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Management Shift Follows Poor Reception
The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to the game's disappointing unveiling last autumn.
On Wednesday, 2K president David Ismailer notified staff about this strategic move through an internal memo, which stressed that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a more defined direction.
Ismailer noted that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a revised approach, aiming to better meet player expectations.
Trend of Key Acquisitions
The news echoes a similar action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise development group.
Here is the full text from Ismailer's communication:
